Year 2 Requirement: Join a Changemaking Organization
In Year 2, each Yardi EJ Scholar joins an environmental changemaking organization to practice, in a real-world setting, what the program has introduced in Year 1:
multidisciplinary thinking, teamwork, and changemaking. This is your opportunity to try your hand at changemaking outside the classroom.
You are not starting something new on your own. You are joining, contributing to, and learning from an initiative that is already engaged in this work, whether on-campus or in the local community.

Choosing an Organization
This year is your opportunity to practice changemaking in a real-world setting, working alongside other people. The goal is for you to find an organization you can see yourself genuinely contributing to, based on your own interests, passions, and goals.
What Counts as a Changemaking Organization
An eligible organization is one that is actively working to create change: moving toward specific outcomes, shifting a system or practice, or building towards impact. What that looks like will differ depending on the organization.
This can include campus organizations, off-campus nonprofits and community groups, local agencies, or a research position, as long as the work itself is oriented toward changemaking.
