Student Testimonials

"The highlight of the program has been the relationships. Gabby and the Peer Mentors have offered me so much support. They go above and beyond to help me and to be a shoulder to lean on. A lot of the friends I have at UCSB are from the program, and they are the reason I look forward to school."

"A highlight of the Yardi EJ program is the first-year seminar because I’m learning about environmental justice. Coming in, I only knew a little bit about environmental justice, but now I’ve learned a lot about how environmental issues impact different communities.”

"The best thing about the program is that they really do offer help every step of the way, and it has never felt like I'm alone in my difficulties. I always have a community that helps me and has my back. The support is priceless, more than the financial aid."

"I only have positive things to say about the program. The dinners, the community, and the friends I have here are amazing. The majority of my friends at UCSB came from Yardi, and everyone pushes each other. That is what makes Yardi incredible."

"Whenever we get together, there is a strong sense of community. When someone isn’t there, you can feel it. Everybody’s energy is important for the Yardi EJ community."

"The highlight of the Yardi EJ program is the resources we have. The program helps me find scholarships, internships, and other opportunities."
