My name is Lizet Orozco, and I’m from Santa Ana, California. I’m majoring in Sociology at UCSB because I’m passionate about understanding people, social systems, and how to create meaningful change. In my free time, I love going to the gym, journaling, and listening to music—it helps me reflect, recharge, and stay connected to myself.
I’m really looking forward to starting this new chapter at UCSB, meeting new people, and getting involved in programs that align with my values. One of my goals is to grow both personally and academically so I can eventually work in a field that supports and uplifts underrepresented communities. I’m excited to be part of the Yardi Environmental Justice Program and to learn more about how social and environmental issues are connected. I hope to gain the tools, knowledge, and connections that will help me be part of real, lasting change.
