My name is Ryan Comparan, and I am from Riverside, California. I will be majoring in Computer Science at UC Santa Barbara. I’m passionate about technology and using it to solve real-world problems, especially those related to environmental sustainability and improving people’s lives. In my free time, I enjoy learning about new technology, photography, and spending time outdoors. I’m most excited about meeting new people, getting involved on campus, and exploring research and leadership opportunities at UCSB.
My long-term goal is to become a software engineer who develops technology that creates a positive impact in communities. Along the way, I hope to grow as both a leader and a learner while giving back through service and mentorship. As a member of the Yardi EJ Program, I hope to build meaningful relationships with mentors and fellow scholars, deepen my understanding of environmental justice, and gain the knowledge, experiences, and support that will help me make a lasting difference in the future.
